Growing up, music was part of how people spent time together. Friends stopped by, conversations lasted for hours, and dancing happened naturally. La Bandera brings that feeling into a traditional bachata social where the music stays at the center of the night.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely. A lot of people come on their own, and the space is built to feel easy to step into whether you come solo or with friends.
Is this beginner-friendly?

Yes. You do not need to be an advanced dancer to come. The goal is to create a space that feels welcoming and relaxed, where social dancing comes naturally.
What kind of music do you play?

Mostly traditional and Dominican bachata throughout the night, with some salsa and merengue mixed in. The focus is social dancing, musical connection, and keeping the music rooted in the culture that shaped it.
Is there food and drinks?

Yes. Food and drinks are available on both floors throughout the night. We also keep the space intentionally limited so people still have room to dance, move around, and stay comfortable.
Is there a dress code?

No formal dress code. Just come comfortable, respectful, and aware that you’ll be dancing and sharing space with other people throughout the night.
Why Juniper?

Juniper is centrally located near Penn Station, which makes it easy for people from different parts of the city and surrounding areas to meet in one place. We were also fortunate enough to build this with people we already trusted, which helped shape the atmosphere from the beginning.
