Why I’m Being Open About AI
Because it’s a strange new world.
This page itself was created using the same AI workflow I describe below. Some of it is me, some of it is AI copy shaped by me, and if anything ever feels “too AI,” I’ll point it out directly. My goal is to be open so you know what’s mine, what’s assisted, and why I choose to use it.
How I Use AI
I use AI as a tool, not a replacement. Writing long research-heavy copy, structuring blog posts, or designing visual assets isn’t where my best energy goes. My best energy belongs to teaching, creating community, and keeping Dominican bachata alive.
So AI is like my assistant. It helps me organize, cross-check, and polish, while I decide the direction, tone, and what makes it onto the site. Nothing goes live without me shaping it.
Here’s what that looks like:
-
Text & research: I use ChatGPT as my main collaborator, alongside Perplexity when I need source material or fact-checks. I give AI direction based on my marketing knowledge, lived experience, and philosophy. It gives me an outline. I fill in my words. Then I hand it back for grammar or flow.
-
Philosophy & voice: My brand is built on authenticity. Over time, I’ve shaped a clear backbone — my brand philosophy, my teaching approach, and my way of building community. That’s what guides everything here. AI doesn’t create those ideas; it just helps me express them more clearly and consistently.
-
Images: Many visuals on this site are AI-generated. But they’re not random. I design prompts tied to Dominican culture, curate what works, and only use images that feel true to the Tres Golpes identity.
-
Workflows: AI also supports back-end systems (automation, drafts, outlines), but never without me reviewing or shaping them.
A Sample Workflow
Here’s how a typical piece of content is built:
-
I outline the type of content I want (example: a blog about Dominican bachata, or a teaching framework).
-
I tell ChatGPT the philosophies and brand tone it needs to follow.
-
AI creates a draft outline or structure.
-
I fill in stories, details, and corrections in my own words.
-
AI polishes grammar, flow, or formatting.
-
Final edits are mine.
That’s the back-and-forth. AI gives me a draft; I rewrite; AI cleans up; I approve.
My Honesty Filter
Not everything you read here will be 100% my words. Sometimes it’s easier to let AI handle the heavy lifting, especially with research summaries or long descriptive copy. When that happens, I’ll add a note at the top of the page so you know it’s more AI-heavy than usual.
But here’s the rule I follow: if it’s story, voice, or mission — that’s me. If it’s research, background, or reference-heavy — that’s AI assisted. And if it’s too AI, I’ll tell you directly.
Closing Note
We’re all figuring this out in real time. I use AI openly because it helps me spend less time typing essays and more time teaching, connecting, and building a culture. I don’t see that as replacing me. I see it as multiplying me.
And if you’re curious about using AI yourself — this page is basically the blueprint.
